My Story - A little more about my journey

My name is Christian Jensen and I am a fully qualified Sound Therapist, Reiki, Meditation & Mindfulness practitioner based in the lovely spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, although I originally lived in North Wales, where I was brought up within a very loving and caring family, close to the seaside, yet not far (in the car) from the Welsh mountain range of Snowdonia. I offer services across Yorkshire and beyond, including  one to one Sound Therapy/ Reiki, group sound relaxation and much more.

I have always loved music, whether it is just to be sat there listening to music, or playing instruments of my own. I was never really drawn to playing instruments, where I had to learn to read music first, in a structured way (although I did have piano lessons as a kid, for a while), but always wanted to play instruments, where I could just dive in and experience the sounds, in a very much free flow form, it just felt totally natural to me, and now, many years later I understand, why as a child, this was the case. The first instrument that I really found I had an affinity with was the didgeridoo, I fell in love with the gentle sounds of this ancient instrument, a tribal instrument known to be thousands of years old. I bought my first didgeridoo when in my late teens and have amassed so many since, including making my own beautiful didgeridoos out of Ash, Birch and Blackthorn wood, with a lot of love and care going into each and every creation. The didgeridoo is not the only instrument though, of course, I added to these, with the Native American Flute, Hand Pan, Singing Bowls and many more. I often came across them at various festivals and for one reason or another, I just had to have one, not knowing the real reason as to why. I am an ‘Earth’ sign and having experienced Soundbaths before at some of these festivals, I found them to be so grounding and relaxing, many times, taking me on such a deep and meditative journey. So knowing the profound effect that sound can have upon the Mind, Body and Spirit, it dawned on me that I could use these amazing instruments, to create a real and beautiful ‘Journey Through Sound’ that would bring the energy and love of these sounds, along with Reiki, Meditation and Mindfulness, combined, realising and understanding the power and the healing qualities, of each of the modalities and how they can benefit our wellbeing.

Aside from all the above, I am at heart a very creative person and love working with wood, being in nature, hill walking, just being out in the fresh air, hearing the birds, the trees, the gentle stream or powerful waterfall running by, I have an allotment too, and love growing my own food and camping, a truly down to earth person in both heart and in spirit. This really does, I feel, come through in the energy I bring to any sessions I host, when I am holding space for you, for your transformation, for your moment to just be, to relax, I feel the warmth in my heart, the love for all beings, after all we are all energy, we are all one.

I qualified as a Sound Therapist first and foremost, through training with the 'Sound Healing Academy' which involved an intensive 4 day workshop, experiencing the different instruments and how each instrument can benefit you and your wellbeing, along with continued coursework over a period of months following the workshop, which also included hosting both group soundbaths and 1to1 sound therapy sessions, gaining feedback from the clients, to go towards my coursework, gaining a level 1 certificate in Sound Therapy at the end of the course. I then went on to complete an intensive online Sound Therapy Diploma, which went deeper into the science behind sound therapy, how it works, and the significant benefits, covering topics from group and 1to1 treatments, what energy is, and how sound works, affecting your mind, body and spirit on an emotional, physical, mental and spiritual level, chakra energy, sound therapy for animals, bio-field energy and much more, gaining a Diploma in Sound Therapy as a result of this in depth course, accredited by the 'Complimentary Medical Association'

I then went on to expand my knowledge of energy and healing, through training as a Reiki Practitioner, as well as training in meditation and mindfulness practices, and I absolutely love working with energy and sound, all of which put together, create the perfect balance for me to support you on your journey of personal transformation.

I also have a wealth of knowledge in each of these aspects of wellbeing, both from personal life experiences, as well as having previously worked for small and large corporate businesses, primarily within the hospitality sector. The impact that these modalities of wellbeing have had upon me, have been profound, so I understand well, the significant benefits that each of these practices can have upon you, both personally and professionally, whatever your situation and circumstances in life.

As a practitioner, it is profoundly important to me, that I hold space for you in a professional and compassionate way, so that I can assist you on a journey that will aid in the healing of your mind, body and spirit, whether this be on a mental, physical, emotional or spiritual level, helping to return you to a positive state of health and wellbeing.
